Rather than the plop examining quest for extremely new players, there should be some even easier ones that copy the "Pet 5 Trees" quest.  Interact with 3 animals, Sell 11 (different) things to a vendor, and so on to teach people the basic they need to bootstrap some coins.    Leading people immediately into gardening is a little too complicated.
