how does skill work now? i do not see a website to learn skills

you learn by doing.
Let's use mining as an example. When you mine a rock you will see a vertical bar that will gradually fill up as you mine more and more...
Also you can see your progress when you click on the the little thought bubble in game, top left of the screen near your avatar.
when you level up you will use less energy and have a greater chance of rewards.
